Due to the nature of our society, what once was a mid-life crisis has suddenly become a quarter life crisis. But you know something, in the end you have to do what is going to make you happy. If working the 8-4 isn't your thing you have to change it and change it now! And christ... 23, try being 30 over here!!! You're still so young with the world at your feet. When I was 22, I took a huge chance and moved to Montreal for a little while. In the end it didn't pan out and I came back, but I had a blast, and I'm so glad I did it.

The 8-4 lifestyle has its advantages too don't get me wrong, but it's the proverbial "golden handcuffs". Personally I'm at a point now where I have a house, bills to pay etc. So going back to school is just no longer an option for me. But I choose to put a positive spin on it. Such as, being in this job allowed me to buy my house. Being in this job allows me the time and financial support to be in a band and play music with your boyfriend in our band.

You ultimately have to do what makes you happy, and what is life if not to take some risks now and then. You don't want to be old and be thinking "what if"... not to mention, in Ottawa you have the advantage of the government. You could be a PR person on Parliament Hill making really good money. Just for example.
